Students can use it as a tool to learn Math, while parents can use it to quickly check their kid’s homework. With PhotoMath, you can have a Math teacher in your pocket!
PhotoMath currently supports basic arithmetics, fractions, decimal numbers, linear equations and several functions like logarithms. Support for new Math is constantly added in new releases as we aim to make the entire Math easy to learn.
Handwritten text is not supported, only printed problems from Math textbooks.
PhotoMath is not fully magical (yet) and it is possible to find a Math problem our app will not recognize. If this happens, please send us feedback. With your help, our team of wizards will add new spells to PhotoMath and make it more magical in the future versions.
It is important to note that this app is still in early development phase and the name BETA will be misleading to some. So … it is not a BETA, it is not an ALPHA, but a MILESTONE release. Somebody might call-it PRE-ALPHA or NIGHTLY build.
Only Android 4.1+ devices are supported as 4.1 upward have the necessary technical abilities that allow us to bring a usable android PhotoMath.
PhotoMath has been developed mostly on Google Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, so other devices with different screen sizes will experience sizing issues. If reporting such issues, don’t forget to send screenshots.
The app works only in portrait orientation at this moment.
App is partially localised to few languages (CN, JP, FR, DE, IT, RU, TR, BR, ES, KR, AR). Texts that are translated might not fit properly to text boxes.
Various UI tweaks and changes
Support for x86 phones
Various fixes and improvements to the math recognition and solving engine
Stay tuned for the next milestone release!
